Sharon Leighty & Co. brings over 30 years of nonprofit management and business experience to small- to mid-size organizations seeking to manage their limited resources more effectively and creatively.

Services include planning and implementing development and capital campaigns, developing major gifts and annual programs, grant writing, building organizational capacity, managing special projects, technical assistance, and coaching for Executive Directors and Development Directors.

An active community volunteer, Sharon donates 15 hours of her professional services each month to organizations throughout Oregon. She is also dedicated to promoting philanthropy in Oregon.

  • Providing capital campaign counsel to Salem's Riverfront Carousel to build "the Stables" to house the carvers and education area
  • Working with the Amphibious Forces Memorial Museum (AFMM) to preserve and interpret the LCI 713
  • Providing fundraising and technical assistance to Kids Club of Jefferson County to expand its revenue, capacity, and sustainability
  • Working with the Christmas Valley community and Outback Retirement Center to develop a sustainable plan for seniors to receive local support services in a community center
  • Helping the Springfield Public Library explore the feasibility of building a new library by 2025
  • Exploring campaign readiness and project feasibility for the Allen Temple Church in Portland and the Maxville Heritage Center in Wallowa County
  • Providing grant writing services to Jefferson County School District 509-J and the Madras Aquatics Center
  • Helping Oregon Black Pioneers secure funding for its new exhibits and programs while building a sustainable, mission-driven organization
  • Providing fundraising services to the Friends of Sumpter Valley Dredge to raise the resources to implement their interpretive plan and to restore the dredge
  • Provided campaign support to raise $2.8 million to build a new main library in Lakeview and assisted the Canby Public Library in developing its capital campaign plans and forming its foundation
  • Worked with the Wallowa Band Nez Perce Trail Interpretive Center to successfully implement the Homeland Project, including completing the capital campaign, implementing the interpretive plan, and providing technical assistance to the staff and board
  • Provided professional services to the Oregon State Capitol Foundation to build an independent nonprofit organization while expanding its resources
  • Served as the coordinator for the Oregon Century Farm & Ranch Program, including program management, board support, and expanding the program
  • Raised $4.5 million to restore the Vista House at Crown Point in the Columbia Gorge
  • Planned and implemented a $1.25 million campaign to preserve the Kam Wah Chung & Co. Museum in John Day
  • Raised $325,000 to implement a new interpretive plan at the Collier Memorial State Park and Logging Museum in Chiloquin.
  • Raised preservation funds for Oregon historic properties including Sumpter Valley Dredge, Pete French's Round Barn, Willamette Mission Ghost Structure, and Oregon lighthouses
  • Worked on a statewide initiative to implement the Willamette River Water Trail
  • Provided development services to the Oregon 150 Board of Directors to raise the resources needed to implement Oregon's 150th birthday celebration
